Thirty One Party Success!!!

Thanks to several friends and family members, I was able to have the most successful at-home party...ever :)  I'm sure it had a lot to do with how wonderful the thirty one products are...as well as my consultant, Scheris' willingness to donate her commission to our adoption fund.  It is still too early to say how much will finally be attributed to the fund, but my estimate would say several hundred dollars. And with the second fundraiser behind me, it is time to focus on #3!

Adoption Fundraiser #2: Thirty One Party

A dear friend, Scheris, has agreed to support our fundraising efforts by generously donating her time, talent and treasure through the ever popular Thirty One home party.  The event takes place at 7:00 pm on September 18th (yes, that is this Wednesday) at my house (26 Roycroft Drive, West Seneca).  There promises to be yummy food and drink, raffles, give-aways, and, of course, the opportunity to purchase these amazing bags and organizational systems all while supporting our adoption!  I hope to see many of you there!

* If you are unable to attend in person, but would still like to place an order, you may view the catalog online at:  www.mythirtyone.com/Scheris/  In order to credit your purchase to our fundraiser, you need to place your order directly through Scheris.  Her phone number is 716-830-2847.

Happy shopping!

Garage Sale Success!!

Well, it is safe to say that all of our hard work has certainly paid off!!  We received countless donations from friends and family.  Everything from clothes, to home decor, fish tanks, kitchen supplies, movies, music, toys, art, games to a train table complete with accessories!  The generosity was overwhelming at times as Tim and I were storing the items in our garage for months and sorting the items for weeks getting ready for the sale.  Getting the word out proved to be a little challenging as I forgot to list the sale in a couple of local papers, but thanks to work of mouth, Facebook, and a friend at the Bee, we were able to alert some to the event (not to mention the six homemade signs strategically placed up and down our street).  Early fall weather put a chill in the air, and a few sprinkles on our items displayed on our first day, but it did not keep the garage *sale-ers* away as we had quite a bit of traffic and hagglers to boot.  The second and last day brought cooler temperatures, but sunny and clear skies and once the sun peaked, it warmed us enough to merit short sleeve shirts and a switch from drinking Tim Hortons coffee and hot chocolate to Molly's homemade blue raspberry lemonade.  All told, the hard work and effort paid by the many volunteers and supporters proved to be worthwhile as we were able to net a total of $1000 + toward our adoption goal!  We feel blessed beyond measure and are genuinely grateful to those who supported this fundraiser through your prayers, donations and gifts of your time, your talents, and your treasure!

XO

Erin & Tim (and Molly too!)
